    MPA Program Program Offers Mortgage Assistance
    Are you receiving Unemployment Insurance, and struggling to pay your mortgage? A new program from the State of Oregon Housing and Community Services may be able to help.

    The Mortgage Payment Assistance Unemployment Program provides up to one year of mortgage payments to eligible homeowners, and will benefit thousands of homeowners across the state.

As you search for a job, you can make a positive difference in your life and in your community by volunteering your time and skills to help others. Volunteer work can build experience for your resume and expand your list of community employment contacts.

The skill sets you use and learn in volunteer work could turn into a job offer or a career change in the future. Volunteering will not affect your unemployment benefits as long as you continue to meet work-search and availability requirements. Weekly Claim Update Starting April 29, 2012
Beginning Sunday, April 29, 2012, the Online Claims System and telephone Weekly Claim Line will be updated for individuals to report their weekly work search when claiming a week of benefits.
Update on Extensions
On February 22, 2012, President Obama signed legislation to modify Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) through the end of 2012. The new legislation does not add any additional funds for individuals who have already exhausted EUC it extends the filing dates in which an eligible individual can apply.
Department Warns of Fake Unemployment Insurance Sites
Don't be fooled. There are internet sites that may say they will file your unemployment insurance claim, but are fake sites.
